Matthew asked Pauline about his little sister, Taylor (almost 6 months old at the time, now 5): "When's Taylor gonna get her stripes? Pauline of course had no idea what he was talking about and repeated, "stripes? what stripes? do I have stripes?" Matthew says, "yes." "Does Jason (Taylor's father) have stripes?" "Yes." "Do YOU have them?" Matthew says "Yes! right here," and pointed to his eyebrows. One recent afternoon, Matthew told his mom, very distressed, "Kaitlen said I can't marry her, because we're family! And she's marrying someone else already, anyways." Kaitlen is Pauline's little sister, who is one year older than Matthew. (one of twins) Apparently he had asked her to marry him, and she declined. (thank goodness, right?) Pauline's ex-boyfriend asked Matthew if he had to go to the bathroom, and Matthew replies, "no, my peenie and my butt are fine". After being treated out to dinner by their Grama, Pauline asked the boys if they had thanked grama for dinner. Roger thanked her; then Pauline asked Matthew "are you going to say thank you, too?" Matthew says, "No, I prayed for her instead." At Target one day, when it was very crowded, Pauline, her mom, her two little sisters, and Matthew and Roger were walking down a main aisle. A woman who was, shall we say, not very thin, walked by in the opposite direction, eating some cookies. Matthew turned around, went up and slapped the lady on the butt, and said loudly, "Her butt is too fat, she doesn't need to be eating any cookies!" When saying nightly prayers with his mom, last Christmas Eve, after Matthew had said his 'God Blesses...' he added, "oh, and God Bless Santa Claus." Matthew recently stated that he now wants to see "a naked Moose at the zoo" which is most likely related to the fact that at a Seattle Mariners Baseball game, The Mariner Moose mascot came right to their seats, and shook their hands. Plus he and his brother already have their own little stuffed Mooses. Apparently, mooses without clothes on, he considers 'naked' :) Matthew and Roger were playing in the living room. Pauline had gone into her bedroom for several minutes looking for something, and had not turned her bedroom light on. She hears Matthew in the hallway saying to Roger, sounding very distressed, "Roger, I can't find mommy! Someone must have stolen her. I'll miss her - she loved us, and we loved her too!" When in a restaurant, Matthew stops the waiter as he's walking by, says "Excuse me." The waiter stops, and Matthew asks him, "do you have a girlfriend?" (..little matchmaker.) |
